SlipStreaming Service pack in Windows
Before you begin you need to have to following :
Windows 2000 or Windows Xp or Windows 2k3
A empty cd-r or cd-rw
600 MB free space.
First download the newest service pack for your Windows version.
Make sure that you download the network install version.
For windows 2000 click here.
For windows Xp click here.
Now you have downloaded the service pack save the file to c:\cdrom for example.
After this save the windows cd-rom to c:\cdrom\cd
Now lets insert the service pack in the windows cd-rom.
Open a Dos box and go to the directory c:\cdrom
Now lets extract the service pack to c:\cdrom\sp
Type the following : service_pack_filename.exe -x
After the service pack is extracted go to the directory c:\cdrom\sp\i386\update
Type the following : update /s:c:\cdrom\cd
You will get two screens the first one tells you that update is integrates files.
The second on tells that the integration is completed.
Now you can burn the windows with the integrated service on cd-r but the cd-r will not be bootable.
