How to use newsgroups.
First of all you need a program for downloading de binaries out of the newsgroups.
Take a look at download.com.
My tutorial is about the program called powergrab.
First you need to download powergrab or any other newsreader program.
second of all you need to install it.

When you have opened powergrab press on your keyboard ctrl+p.
Your are getting a screen that says in the title bar "power-grab program settings".
At server: you type myprovider.news.com for example (ask your provider for this information).
To check if the newsserver is correctly entert press the test button.
After this press Ok.
Now you are ready to add groups to your groupslist.
Go back to the startup screen of powergrab.
Press F8.
You will get a screen with in the title bar "server group list".
For the first time click on refresh group list .
Powergrab now will get the namens of all the groups on the newsserver this can sometimes take up to a couple of minutes.

If you would like to add the group alt.binaries.test it goes like this.
By filter on names enter the following : binaries.example.
press apply.
Select the group and click on add to power-grab.
You can do the same for other groups you would like to add to your newsgroup list.
if you are done click on done.

to get the latest files on the binaries group you need to update the group.
Here is how you do it.
In the menu go to group and click on scan all
An other way is to rightclick on the selected newsgroup and choose for "scan all"

To download one or more files.
click on the group and you get on the right side a list of all the files that are on that groups at that moment.
Select one or more files and press ctrl+g.
Or get the files through the menu file => get and decode file(s)

The most important is press the play button to start downloads
