How Newsbin Works

How to install Newsbin

First lets get the install file "newsbin pro 4.22" at Newsbin.com.
Double click the file nb422.exe
Click yes to install newsbin
Read the borring license agreement(that nobody reads)
Agree the license agreement while crossing your fingers
In the next screen you are able to select/deselect options for the installation by clicking the little robot heads.
See screen below.

Click next.
Click install.
Newsbin is installing after this you are asked to run newsbin choice "no"

How to configure Newsbin

Start Newsbin
Click "ok" on the news of tody message
Make the screen like this :

Click the Server icon
The following screen will appeare

Type in at servername anything you want(if you want to add more servers remember not to double name you're servernames)
Type in at server address the newsgroup server address you got from you're ISP or from somebody else.
Click "Ok" when you're done. if you want to add more newsservers repeat the steps above.

Now lets add groups to Newsbin.
Click the Group icon.
The following screen will appeare

You can click "Download Groups" to get the latest groups but you don't have to.
The easy way to add a group is to filter out other groups.
Click the checkbox at "Display Groups Containing"
Now enter something you are searching for in the textbox.
Click the checkbox at the beginning of each alt... from the group you want to add.
You can follow these steps to search for other words and add more newsgroups.

How to download with Newsbin

After installing and configuring Newsbin it is time to use Newsbin.
Go to the tab groups as shown in the picture below.

Rightclick the group and select from the menu for the first time "download all headers" for the second time "download latest".
The latest information found in that group will be updated.
In the right screen you will see all files (if there are files ofcourse)
To download one ore more files select the file(s) and rightclick.
Rule : The great thing about Newsbin is that it shows incomplete(remember quickpar) and complete files.
To download files that are marked with a whitebox(complete) rightclick the selected file(s) and choice from the menu "Add to download list"
To download files that are marked with a yellowbox(incomplete) rightclick the selected file(s) and choice from the menu "Download Incompletes"
Sometimes files fail when downloading just retry to download them after you updated the newsgroup.
