Making a Windows cd-rom bootable
After you slipstreamed a new service pack in the Windows installation the burned cd-rom did not boot from cd-rom.
Here is how to make that slipstreamed Windows bootable cd-rom
For making a windows cd-rom bootable you need the following :
Directory with the slipstreamed Windows.
Empty cd-r or cd-rw.
A bootable cd-rom or the following file
Ahead - Nero Burning Rom
If you want to make your own bootimage file you can download Bart's Boot Image Extractor from http://www.nu2.nu
After downloaded the Boot image extractor and a bootable cd-rom is inserted type the following : bbie cd-rom_drive for example bbie d:
Now open Nero - Burning Rom
choose from the menu CD-ROM (boot)
Make sure the following is correct :
image file : the file name
select expert settings
kind of emulation : no emulation
boot message : Nero Boot-Loader V3.0
load segment of sectors : 07C0
number of loaded sectors : 4
after you all did this your screen should look like this :
Name the label anything you want
After you have selected the files from the windows slipstreamed directory you can start burning the cd-r.
